Yes... I got it to work.

 

After installing the ipmitool the syntax to change fan treshold is the following:

 

ipmitool -I lan -U ADMIN -H 192.168.1.3 sensor thresh "FAN 2" lower 400 500 600

 

Where it states ADMIN, this the login userid from your IPMI

Where it states the IP address it is the IP address of your IPMI.

 

Now to find out how to do this trick on my esxi box :-)

Just found this thread. Downloaded and installed the version from the link provided by dmacias and it is working great on UR 6.1.6. 

 

For those of us who have server motherboards on which WOL does not work, this is a great tool for turning on and off a computer that you don't want to be on all the time.
