It's not that I'm unhappy with unRAID (in fact, I'm very happy), but before I fully commit to unRAID I figure I should at least check out what else is out there. So far, the only other options I've looked at are FreeNAS and FlexRAID.

Other common alternatives are SnapRaid and dedicated hardware devices like Synology, plus whatever you can put together with Windows 8.

OpenMediaVault is also a player.

There might or might not be other alternatives being worked on now that have yet to make a public appearance.
