August 13, 201411 yr Hello, I'm in the middle of the process of refilling my Server (without parity for speed) and have decided (halfway trough) that my old 3Ware 12-Port controller has to go. The problem is now I can't just unplug the disks, replug and sort out the right placement of the disks again, as the 3ware labels the Disks not with their "real" name but with something like "1AMCC_Some_Serial number" (see attached) screen. Can I just move them one by one (using "new config") and reassigning the disks to their correct slots (and also the disk with the now "new" name) ? As I don't have parity now that's no concern but I'd like to keep all the already moved data... thanks for the help
August 13, 201411 yr Just keep track of which one is you parity and cache drive. Once you know those drives you can a sign all the data drive in any data slot. UnRAID will recognize them as data and will not format them.
