August 26, 201411 yr Confirmed a bug by Tom in 6.06 but not fixed yet unRAID OS Version: Beta 6.06 & 6.07 Description: Share go missing How to reproduce: Every know and again my User shares would become inaccessible. I need to stop and start the array to get them back again. I spent sometime today trying to replicate it and i have. The first attachment, sharesgood.png, shows my current shares. All if good. On the webgui I click on settings, Share Settings. The settings are fairly basic. see attachment sharesettings.png Without changing anything, I click "Apply" in the Share Settings section. The page updates and returns fine. Here's the syslog of what happens when I do that: Aug 10 20:34:42 tdm emhttp: shcmd (491): /usr/local/sbin/emhttp_event stopping_svcs Aug 10 20:34:42 tdm emhttp_event: stopping_svcs Aug 10 20:34:42 tdm emhttp: Stop AVAHI... I click on the Webgui Shares page and here is what I see, to my initial horror. sharesgone.png attached. The shares can't be reached. I need to stop and restart the array to get the shares back. Expected results: Share dont go missing Actual results: Share fo missing Other information: See attachments
August 26, 201411 yr Note to self: this happens because something is preventing user share remount upon share settings change.
August 27, 201411 yr Stopping and starting array also worked for me whilst maintaining the config change I made.
August 28, 201411 yr I'll put up my hand too as this was something I experienced a day or so ago when I was ready to reformat my drives (in beta 7), but I soon realised it was my mistake of making a few disk share setting changes while the array was still active. I wanted to remove a disk from those allocated to the user shares before I proceeded to transfer data and reformat the drive etc. This was to prevent any potential conflict to the disks I was working with at the time. As others have said, all was fine again after a restart of the array, but I am now more mindful whether anything (eg docker) is accessing/locked any of the files in the array or I need to change disk/share settings etc. Live and learn... One additional thing I honestly forgot about too was the VM I had running in the background which was preventing the unmounting of disks. [it's a set and forget VM used for plexconnect.] Once 'virshed' out (instead of killing the process), tower immediately went back to the normal steps of an expected array stop. I guess as a precautionary measure, there may be a couple of stupidity user checks that could be run as part of the webgui to inform the user of the expected outcome if they were to proceed after hitting apply/done. cheers, gwl
September 12, 201411 yr Marking this fixed in -beta9. If you still find a problem, please post here and I'll re-open.
