Storage usage report?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I had over 500GB free on my unRAID server a month ago and haven't really added anything (5.0.5) but suddenly it shows that I only have 8.19kb free.  Something is eating my space, maybe it's a plugin that got corrupted or something else.  How do I trouble shoot this?  Is there something I can use to give me a reliable breakdown of my space usage to find the culprit?

Thanks.  I can provide whatever logs and additional information you need.  This is a very odd and annoying occurrence.

Use the du command. E.g.

du -h --max-depth=2 /mnt/disk1

Change the depth, disk number and path as needed. Google "man du" for more info.

Yesterday, I deleted a bunch of old crap I didn't even know I had on the server.  This left me with over a 100 gigs free, so I reorganized some stuff.  Sure enough, today, I'm left with 414 KB out of 12tb.

Any idea of what's going on?

syslog.zip

That log shows a lot of files being transfered from the cache disk to the main array.    I suspect this is what is consuming your space.  You should probably check how much stuff you have on the cache disk waiting to be transfered.

Sounds like your unRAID system may need another/larger disk drive?
