ARC-1230 Raid Card in JBOD No longer supported?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

unRAID OS Version: 6 Beta 6 & Beta 7

Description: I upgraded from the 5a Beta to 7 to find that my raid card (in JBOD) is no longer being detected by the OS. :(

Once failing and reaching the login prompt none of the drives connected to the card are appearing. I've attached some screenshots of the boot process.

I installed beta 6 to see if it was a new update but it appears to be an issue in beta 6 as well.

I have now rolled back to 5a and it appears to be working fine again.

Would love some direction on how I can rectify this or provide the devs some assistance in resolving it?

How to reproduce: Boot unraid with ARC-1230 installed...

Expected results: boots with all drives connected to the card detected

Actual results: No drives connect the the card are detected

If you don't mind it would help to do a little googling and find out if someone else has issues with this card in newer linux kernels as well.  Could be a simple patch out there that fixes it...

I have to be honest, I'm not exactly sure what I'm searching for?

Googling Kernel arc-1230 isn't turning up much :(

Any tips?

Hi RobJ / Tom,

Just had a chance to sit down and look at this, thanks for pointing this out. I'm using an AMD board so I did the equivalent of turning off VT-d and disabled IOMMU instead and this has solved the problem and all drives are now showing!

Thank you!

I'm assuming that my plan to pass my graphics card through to a VM will now not be an option now that IOMMU is disabled and will have to wait until this is turned back on in the next build?

Thanks Again!

This is fine as this is a Beta after all and I dont assume to have full functionality.
