promise raid will not mount in latest 6release8

Featured Replies

Unraid OS: Unraid 6beta8

Description:: Two western digital drives mount fine in 5.0.5 but fail int 6beta8 with unformatted message

How to reproduce: Upgrade to 6 with promise raid western digital 640gig drives

Expected results: Healthy array with 6 disks

Actual results: healthy array with 4 disks mounted, showing 2 unformatted

Other information:  Originally posted in support but after reverting to 5.0.5 and the disks working immediately i figure this is a 6beta8  bug

pretty sure it has to do with this line:

Sep  1 12:45:32 Buddha emhttp: shcmd (33): mkdir -p /mnt/disk3

Sep  1 12:45:32 Buddha emhttp: shcmd (34): set -o pipefail ; mount -t auto -o noatime,nodiratime /dev/md3 /mnt/disk3 |& logger

Sep  1 12:45:32 Buddha logger: mount: unknown filesystem type 'promise_fasttrack_raid_member'

Sep  1 12:45:32 Buddha emhttp: _shcmd: shcmd (34): exit status: 32

Sep  1 12:45:32 Buddha emhttp: mount error: 32

syslog.zip

Click 'disk3' on Main page and set file system type to 'reiserfs' - report if that works.

that brought it back thanks! sorry if this was a support issue over defect. But any idea why i had to do that, and will I have to do it on every reboot?

Shouldn't have to do it on every boot once you have set the file system type, is that what you are experiencing?

Also - what is the history of that device?  That file system type seems impossible that linux put it there.
