[Beta 8] Docker fails to start - mount error

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Getting the following whenever I try to start Docker since updating to the new beta:

Sep 8 22:01:54 mediaserver php: /etc/rc.d/rc.docker start
Sep 8 22:01:54 mediaserver php: Creating new image file for Docker: /mnt/cache/appdata/docker.img size: 10G
Sep 8 22:01:54 mediaserver php: WARNING! - Btrfs v3.14.2 IS EXPERIMENTAL WARNING! - see http://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org before using Turning ON incompat feature 'extref': increased hardlink limit per file to 65536 fs created label (null) on /mnt/cache/appdata/docker.img ^Inodesize 16384 leafsize 16384 sectorsize 4096 size 10.00GiB Btrfs v3.14.2
Sep 8 22:01:54 mediaserver php: Not starting Docker: mount error

I've tried creating it on other disks (non-cache), but had no luck there either. Not too sure what I'm doing wrong!

Can you tell post a complete syslog and tell me are you running btrfs for /mnt/cache as well or is that a reiserfs/xfs disk?

I'm not too sure how to post the complete syslog, I got that information from unMenu.

The cache was btrfs, but I've since formatted it to reiserfs just to try something different. Same problem.

I'm not too sure how to post the complete syslog...

Ah, I'm sorry, I should have paid more attention to the stickies.

Here is the syslog just after trying to start Docker.

Same errors for me when trying to start docker after the upgrade to beta 8. I did get it started on /mnt/disk1/docker.img but after setting up the containers eg CP and rebooting, the setup was not persistent. Id really like to put the image on /mnt/btrfs/docker.img where I run the apps from. Any help would be appreciated. Sys log attached :)

Marking this fixed in -beta9.  If you still find a problem, please post here and I'll re-open.

Still no luck for me: syslog.

No error message this time, but it won't start.

Get rid of all plugins then try again plz.

EDIT: Also get rid of anything in /boot/packages

That seems to have taken care of the issue.

The only plugins I had were unMenu and a Beets plugin. I'm going to assume the Beets plugin was the issue, as I don't think it was made for 6.0.
