September 10, 201411 yr One day, a few months ago, I found on my venerable UNRAID, 5.0.5 Pro, Drive 5 throws errors. I shut it down till I can buy a new 2TB drive. The drive cam in, in the server it went, and within 4 hours of data rebuilding, it threw more errors, much like the old drive did. I pulled the new drive, tested it, and it was good. I replaced the Motherboard, and now, Good ole' Drive 5 is showing red, and will not spin up. Any ideas anyone? Doug
September 10, 201411 yr You really need to tell us a lot more before we can even start to guess. Post a syslog and maybe a screenshot. Tell us about all your hardware in great detail. Could be bad drive, bad sata or power cables or disk controller, bad power supply, user error. Did you stop the array before you shutdown? Do you use preclear?
