server was fine, now no post, no bios, no video

I was just testing the unraid server and everything was working well. Good speeds, etc.

I started preclearing an older raptor drive that wasn't in the array after following this:

http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Configuration_Tutorial#Preclearing_With_Screen

After I was done testing speeds I stopped the array so I could preclear the other 3 drives that I'm going to be using long term.

In the web GUI, I pressed the check box and then stopped the array. The loading wheel kept spinning for 5+ minutes then it came back as being unresponsive.

I rebooted the machine and I get no real signs of life. No bios screen or any video output at this point.

I'm not sure what would have gone sideways. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Update: pulled power and the battery to bios. Put another pci-e (temporary) GPU in and it's posting. Not sure if maybe the GPU came out a bit or if the other GPU is toast. Working on finding a small PCI gpu rather than massive Radeon 5830's haha.

I experienced something similar some weeks ago.

My server was running fine when I left and when I came back it was still running but not reachable.

Not even telnet was available - that was very scary.

I hit the power button and the server did not come up.

No screen, no beep, nothing - you know that feeling when everything gets warm in/on you?  :o

I popped out one of the two RAM modules - nothing.

Exchanged the second with the first and ... BEEP, VIDEO, POST, BEEP, unRAID  :)

This reminds me to get my backup server up and running ASAP!
