UnRaid dead !!

Featured Replies

Hi,

found very strange errors in the syslog and tried to restart (stop array - stop disks - reboot) but UnRaid never came back. The Bios starts but no boot from the flash drive...not even the first line (loading bizmage or similar).

Tried all kind of things ie. copied backup files, re-formatted flash...nothing works).  The UnRaid was running for four years without any issues with 10 drives in array. Is my motherboard gone? The log is attached.

Thank you.

Try preparing a different flash drive with the free version of unraid just to see if it will boot. If you can see a boot selection hotkey when you boot, hit it and make sure the usb flash drive is selected as the boot device.

You could have a bad flash drive, your motherboard CMOS battery may have died resetting the boot order, or something else may be going on.

Forgot to add...my config folder had some strange filenames and chkdsk found errors (later corrected).

Yes, I'll check the boot order and free unraid.

Well,

as turns out I had three separate issues.....

First my Flash drive was corrupted, it is working now after reformatting and restoring the files. Just finished the synch and no errors found.

Second issue was with my front USB controllers that are (were) fried. I'm using USB ports from the back now.

Third, my BIOS setup (boot order) gets changed to boot from the HD everytime I power off the PC. I am guessing Bios battery or the motherboard itself is gong south soon considering the second issue....it is time to replace the  hardware and upgrade to ver 5 or even 6.

Thanks for your help.
