September 12, 201411 yr http://www.servethehome.com/Server-detail/asus-p9a-i-c2550-sas-4l-review/ This looks AMAZING for unraid and mini server builds. You'll never use all 8 cores and it's mini-itx. Possibilities are endless.
September 12, 201411 yr Isn't the C2550 only 2 cores 4 threads? or am I missing something. Decent board if you don't need CPU.

September 12, 201411 yr ASUS C2750 (Eight Core ATOM) (P9A-I/C2750/SAS/4L) http://www.asus.com/us/Commercial_Servers_Workstations/P9AIC2750SAS4L/ Interesting to note that one person that has it mentioned that there are driver issues: Pros: Seems like a quality board. Cons: Does not boot FreeNAS/NAS4Free. Driver incompatibility with the NIC and SAS cards. Other Thoughts: This was an ideal board for my needs but does not have drivers available for BSD 9 based OS's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132230
September 12, 201411 yr Isn't the C2550 only 2 cores 4 threads? or am I missing something. Decent board if you don't need CPU. C2550 4 cores - 4 threads - http://ark.intel.com/products/77982 C2750 8 cores - 8 threads - http://ark.intel.com/products/77987 Take your pick. People seem to have had issues with the Asrock Avoton boards and unRAID, or maybe it's still a bit early for everything to be stable. Maybe the Asus boards will do better.
September 17, 201411 yr Author The C2750 looks like it will crest over $500 to purchase. The motherboard works with PFSense which is good. I am hoping that I can build a KVM based system and run both UnRaid and PFSense all in one bundled system.
November 4, 201411 yr Can anyone in here confirm whether these are issues with these motherboards? Seen one person say he's running them fine but plenty of others saying they've had problems. Seems perfect though, 12 sata on any board is immense, let alone ITX.

Seems perfect though, 12 sata on any board is immense, let alone ITX. So as per above, has anyone built a system using the ASUS P9A-I/C2550/SAS/4L board? Interested to hear about any issues encountered (if any)? cheers
March 25, 201511 yr Don't know about the Asus board; but there are a couple of threads here where systems have been built using the AsRock Avoton boards. They had some early "growing pains" ... but are working fine now.
March 25, 201511 yr Don't have the ASUS board, but I have a server with a Supermicro MB (See my sig). Works fine with one minor 'problem'. Sometimes, when I reboot, the network speed is 100 instead of 1000. Easely solved with a ssh login and the use of ethtool, and prevenable by not rebooting . All in all I'm happy with this board and would buy another one...

April 8, 201511 yr I have asrock C2550D4I runing unraid 6b14 WORK PERFECT but its necesary update marvel firmware(old versions have a bug that the sata disconnects the HDD on intensive process like parity check) After update bios and marvel controller(very easy process) all work perfect, Power consumption 34W all HDD spin down WIth a Gold PSU. The only problem I have if that I cannot control Fan speed from unRAID I want to stop fans when HDD Spin down.
April 8, 201511 yr ... The only problem I have if that I cannot control Fan speed from unRAID I want to stop fans when HDD Spin down. So don't power the fans from the motherboard. Buy a thermal fan controller and connect the fans to that (it will connect to a molex connector from the PSU)

I couldn't find anything on this.
