SM IPMI KVM Mouse question.

Featured Replies

I have 2 unraid servers running on Supermicro boards with IPMI. I like to run the IPMI KVM console in Supermicro's IPMIviewer software. This works, I see the console and type commands. I can also start Midnight Commander, but can only control it by keyboard, not like in Putty also by mouse like clicking the commands in the bottom line. Can this mouse functionality also work in IPMI KVM? Can someone give me tips on how to set this up? I have IPMIviewer installed on a laptop with mousepad.

I think you have to install mouse support in unraid itself for this to work, either in the kernel or with a package, possibly if you could find a slack package for gpm it might do the trick. No experience actually doing this, I just googled a little.

I thought it would be some setting in IPMI KVM. MC in Putty can be controlled by mouse.

I'll have to test this on a super micro system I have at home when I get back from this trip. I'll report back...
