User Share not deleting

Featured Replies

Hi all, built my second Unraid box (first one running fine), but this one is having an issue.

Problem:

1) I cannot delete an empty user share, as Unraid thinks there is data in it when there is not. (The user share is called 'OTHER', and it is only found in 'Disk 1'. Both locations show 0 items in the folder. Split level 1, high water.

Thanks.

check that they are name exactly the same including case. ive seen similar problems in the past with things like "other" and "OtheR"

The FAQ has an entry for this:  http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ#How_do_I_remove_a_User_Share.3F

If that does not help, can you specify how you are trying to delete the User Share, and what message you are getting, or what behavior you are seeing that indicates it won't let you remove it.  Of course, make sure you can see Hidden and System files in whatever file manager you are using, as well as being able to see files and folders beginning with a period, especially if you are using a Mac.

thanks guys. figured out that not only do you have to empty all the data in the created "user share" folders, but you also have to delete the "user share" folders themselves, on all of your disks. then you can delete the share.

thanks again.
