September 16, 201411 yr I'm on newegg.ca and I can't find an 8 port SATA controller card. Almost all of them are either 2 or 4 port cards. I'm not sure what I could look for other than the card on the greenleaf technology's page. Any suggestions?

September 17, 201411 yr Author I can check on tiger direct, perhaps. Trying to buy from Newegg so I can pay in bitcoin.
September 17, 201411 yr Author Found this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816124070&cm_re=sata_iii_controller_card-_-16-124-070-_-Product Non-RAID controller 8 x SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Connectors Up to 6Gb/s $107 Good, bad, other? Supports 3TB/4TB GPT drives?
September 17, 201411 yr I can't tell you if it is good or bad but it being a non-RAID card makes it more likely to be compatible.
September 17, 201411 yr 8 sata over 2 pcie lanes? I'm feeling too lazy to do the math, but I can't image that will do much for your parity speeds Other than that, don't do more than 4 simultaneous streams from 4 different drives and it probably won't be too bad.
September 17, 201411 yr I found this on newegg.ca Pretty expensive from my point of view but if you insist on bitcoin payment... I would check ebay for M1015 or H310 that can be flashed to LSI9211-8i and you pay less than 50% of the LSI@newegg! Check our wiki for more alternatives!
September 17, 201411 yr I tend to use the AOC-SAS2LP cards: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816101792&cm_re=aoc-sas2lp-_-16-101-792-_-Product I have two of them in my UnRAID server now and they work great.
September 17, 201411 yr Author Good stuff - going to grab two of 'em. Thanks for sharing that information!
September 18, 201411 yr Good job bkastner, I totally forgot that Supermicro is much more present in North America than over here. In fact I was just wondering if there really wasn't a 8-port controller on newegg.ca when I searched for LSI...
December 2, 201411 yr Author That supermicro is out of stock. I found a SYBA 8 internal SATAIII up to 6gb/s card for $108. Not sure if SYBA is any good though. edit: same one as I posted above.
December 3, 201411 yr That supermicro is out of stock. I found a SYBA 8 internal SATAIII up to 6gb/s card for $108. Not sure if SYBA is any good though. edit: same one as I posted above. If you get one, please report back if it works on all 8 ports. I see reviews saying it doesn't always work.
December 3, 201411 yr Author Yeah, that doesn't instil confidence lol. Need to try to find those supermicro ones again.
December 3, 201411 yr I installed the Supermicro listed above at the weekend. Seems to be working fine. Remember you will need breakout cables from the card to sata connections. I got mine on Amazon.
