September 16, 201411 yr I have been using unraid for about 18months. I am using a SanDisk Cruzer Blade for all my unraid system files. I am about to upgrade to plus Registration Key. Should I stay with my usb drive or should I replace it for a new one?
September 16, 201411 yr USB keys don't last a lifetime, although a lot of people don't realise that. They have a certain amount of writes and the more plugins used on the key then the more it gets used. I would by a Sandisk Cruiser Fit 8GB which is on the LimeTech recommended list and what they use. They don't cost much.
September 17, 201411 yr Author thanks for the reply I have ordered the Cruzer Fit 16 GB USB as it was cheaper than 8GB Cruzer Fit whats the best way of transfering my plugin? SB / Sab / SNAP and my shares?
September 17, 201411 yr Author No mate version 5.0 it says I am sure i updated to 5.05 EDIT..... Just upgraded now to v 5.0.5 whats the best way of transferring my plugin? SB / Sab / SNAP and my shares to my new usb drive.
September 17, 201411 yr Download v5.05 and install on new USB key and make bootable. Stop array and copy config folder to new key over writing config folder on new key with old config folder and files. Shutdown array, replace old key with new key. Should work fine but you have a backup just in case. Everything I have read states that the config folder is all that's needed to be backed up but you must stop the array first. Also remember to copy over the preclear_disk.sh from the root of your old key to the new USB key. Also add the .key file lime tech sent you for the plus version to the config folder on the new key if you haven't already put it in your config folder on the old USB key.
