nokdim
So long story short I have an unraid system with three drives that are 2TB each. I have one as parity and other 2 as data drives and has been working great for a few years. I have parity check scheduled for every Sunday night at 11:00 PM and usually ran for about 6 - 8 hours to complete overnight. recently I deleted 1TB of data from the data drives and now it says it will take 14 days to run a parity check. During the parity check my system is pretty much useless as CPU is pegged so I can't access my TV/Movies. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Hopefully this is not too vague but if you need more info please let me know... Link to comment
JonathanM
Parity checking has nothing to do with the files. The speed should be the same no matter the content. You probably have a drive failure, or loose cable, or something else going on. Collect a current syslog, and smart reports for your drives, zip it all up and attach it here. Link to comment
nokdim
Here is a syslog after a recent reboot and smartctl for all 3 drives. I have been chasing a hardware issue I swapped a drive and Sata cable. sda.txt sdb.txt sdc.txt syslog.txt Link to comment
