I currently have a 150gb 10k rpm raptor drive that I was going to use as a cache drive. Problem is it's SATA II (3gb/s). Would a SATA3 6gb/s raptor drive be noticeably faster for write speeds?

    No. Raptor's used to be fast but compared to ssd they are slow. Doubt you could tell the difference.

    but SSD's are no faster for writing. Only reading. Raptor drive should be faster writing than SSD.

    I don't know what SSD you are using but my SSD is faster than my 2 150GB raptors in RAID 0 reading and writing.
