Honk if you've ever waited eagerly by the front door for chasis and hard drive delivery, dying to get started with unRAID, only to HAVE TO WAIT IMPATIENTLY 24 HOURS for preclear!  :o

Can I get a witness?  Oh the horror, the horror!

I preclear drives 3x, what is this 24 hours you speak of?

I've got 3TB Western Digitals.  I'm only doing 1 cycle and after 17hours preclear is only 10% though the "Post-Read" step.  I think I've read in the forum that 24 hours is pretty standard for larger drives.  How big are your drives?

I usually skip the pre-read, and it takes me about 27 hours for a 4TB drive..

I had 3 4TB drives arrive over 3 days and I "hotswapped" them in as they arrived, preclearing them all at once!

That was fun.

I was referring to the fact that since I do 3 cycles of preclear, it takes me far longer than 24 hours

Wow, that is some hard core testing... :)

Could always live on the edge and not bother pre-clearing ;)

I've had a few used drives fail on cycles 2 or 3, and one new drive fail on cycle 3
