If you are running -beta9, or -beta10, you can update via the Plugin Manager by selecting following URL and paste in the Install Extension box (beta9) or Install Plugin box (beta10):

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/limetech/webGui/master/unRAIDServer/unRAIDServer.plg

If you are running beta10 you will see some messages that look like:

Warning: mkdir(): File exists in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/plgMan/plugin on line 146

Those are harmless and eliminated in the release you are downloading.

Sorry about the bugs in -beta10; most were due to my own snafu in creating the actual release...

Summary of changes from 6.0-beta10 to 6.0-beta10a
-------------------------------------------------
- emhttp: get rid of extraneous "closeConnection" messages
- shfs: fix issue preventing new object creation on use_cache=yes shares when cache not present
- plgMan: eliminate extraneous mkdir warning
- plgMan: fix issue where 'update' operation installs wrong symlink
- webGui: eliminate extraneous timezone indicator on DateTime page
- xenMan: restored 'x' bit in event scripts

Running beta10, "Check For Updates" says unRAID Server OS is up to date.

You have to paste the line in the OP into the install plugin.

Minor issue.  The unRAID OS stale plugin shows beta10a.  I think 10 is stale, not 10a.

Mine show beta10 as stale and beta10 as up-to-date!  In any case, I don't have the option to update to beta10a.

Ooops ... that'll teach me to find my glasses so that I can read the detail!

Having performed the upgrade by pasting the text, the update, apparently, completed, and there was a message saying reboot required.  I stopped the array and selected reboot (all from the web gui), but the machine will not boot now.  The console repeatedly displays:

Loading /xen... failed!
No files found!
boot:

Sounds like your Xen imagine isn't accessible.  Is it on a non-array drive (SNAP?)

I never saw a failure to boot, but I did see a failure to start my VM. The solution was to add a line in GO to mount the SNAP shared drive.

/boot/config/plugins/snap/snap.sh -ms [share_name]

Put that as far to the end as possible.  It has to be after emhttp is started and you need to give emhttp a few moments to start so either add a wait, or make sure there are a few lines of other stuff inbetween. For me a modprobe, chron cp, and cache-dir was enough of a wait.

I would download the b10a from the Limetech website and copy it over to your flash.  Sounds like your update didn't work.  Missing Xen from the flash?

Missing Xen from the flash?

So it would seem ... I'm able to boot without Xen.

Nope .. spoke too soon, booting without Xen hangs with the attached image displayed on the console.

Seems like something went seriously wrong while writing the images to the flash drive.

Time to open my machine up to get the flash device out ....

So this is an instance where you are running unRAID as a VM?

Me?

No, bare metal unRAID, with a Xen ArchVM, a couple of dockers, and some plugins.

Lol I just saw KVM in the menu bar and thought the KVM hypervisor.  Now I see it was a method for IPMI.

Just updated using by using the install extension box. Seemed to install fine and then told me to reboot. I rebooted unRAID but now I cannot access unRAID. I am away from home so I cannot currently tell what is going on but I can confirm through my router that the computer is turned on... I suppose it was a bad idea to upgrade while away from home. Nothing is ever easy! I'll report back when I find out what it's doing. [emoji1]

You should only do things like that if you have full control via IPMI or iLO.

Indeed, I know better... But I was overly optimistic.

Just did the update thru the plugin manager (was running b9), window gave me a CLOSE command, nothing more, this might be a stupid question: but should I reboot ?  I read that someone said they were told to reboot, I did not get such a message, webui still tells me I am running b9.

You definitely have to reboot before the new release can be active.

Thought I would post an update. UnRAID did not cause my issues. I forgot that something's my computer enters a continual reboot cycle when it gets rebooted. I hardly restart my unRAID server and It doesn't always happen so I usually forgot that it happens.

Sounds like this might help.

Oh that's so fancy! There is a good chance I will have to obtain one of those...

Disclaimer... I don't own that specific device, so I can't comment on the usability or reliability of that specific model. The amazon reviews aren't exactly glowing. There are many different ip power switching devices available, that's just the first one I hit.

Quick question, did you try to upgrade 5 to 6a without removing your old 5x plugins?
