"config parsing error near" [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

Running v6b10 I get this error when trying to run the start VM command. I've been through the config file over and over and don't see any problems. Can someone take a look and tell me what I've done wrong?

Are you running beta 10 or 10a?  If not 10a, please update using this upgrade plugin (not "check for updates" in the plugin manager):

I completed the upgrade to 10a but it's still give that error when I try to start the VM.

Will take a look at this in a bit. Gotta put my daughter to bed and eat some dinner first...

No problem man, I'm in no hurry. Thanks for your help.

OK, did you edit this file from windows notepad or something?

I used notepad++

Hmm.  Its just odd because its the same kind of error we see when windows notepad puts a special blank character in the file.  Can you try recreating your cfg?

hmm if i were you before blowing away your config file try the following in notepad++:-

go to the "edit menu" then select "eol conversion" and then select "unix format", if this option isnt greyed out then you have some invalid characters in there, click on it and save the file and then give it a whirl.

@jonp there is a handy little tool i use with unraid called dos2unix which does this for you (included in openelec), its extremely small and easy to use, might be worth including in unraid?.
