Restart unRAID Xen Domain-0 without physically rebooting machine?

Featured Replies

Is there a way to restart unRAID Xen Domain-0 without physically rebooting machine?  I am remotely and don't want any chances of my machine not posting (it has happened before.  about to switch motherboard, some drives do not post in time with current one I have.)

Thanks!

Dom 0 is the physical host. No you cannot reboot one without the other.

From what I recall, Linux has options to be able to load a new/different kernels in without doing a reboot. I haven't used it nor done research into it so can't provide more details at this time.

A 1 second search points you to Ksplice / Kexec.
