October 4, 201411 yr Hi everyone, I am currently building a new server and I will soon have to buy a new PSU since the one I have is non-modular. I would like a few suggestions for a PSU that is not too expensive. Bear in mind that I live in Europe (Greece), although I think that PSUs do not vary as much as some other components between various continents. Some extra info: 1. The Server will ultimately have at least 15 HDDs (mostly WD Green, although the parity and 1 or 2 other drives might be WD Red) 2. Ideally the PSU will have as many as possible SATA cables 3. The main system specs: Asus P5Q Deluxe Mobo, Intel Core Quad CPU Q9550 (2.83GHz), 8GB RAM, primitive PCI graphics card and soon 1 or 2 SAS2LP-MV8 cards Thanks in advance for your input
October 4, 201411 yr The PSU in your sig, the HX850 will do fine, as long as it has a single 12 V rail.

October 5, 201411 yr Author Yes, but I am using the HX850 for my other unraid server Also, I know I could use a non-modular PSU, but it is nice not having all those cables in your case. additionally, I recently found these: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzUwWDEwNTA=/z/YTIAAOSwPe1T0UmH/$_57.JPG which means I can even further reduce the number of cables
October 6, 201411 yr The Corsair HX850 I believe they did make a modular version of this as well. However I would stick with a Corsair PSU. I've been running them for years and some of them I've ran damn near the max watts that it supplied and never had any issues with them overheating or anything O and that was there CX series PSUs Now what would I choose. Well I got a AX760 in my NAS and a AX1200i in my main computer. Sooooo
