Array configuration (parity, disk1,...) file location

Featured Replies

Hallo, everyone

I have messed too much with some settings with my array USB stick and I want to start completely clean. I have not found anywhere a mention of the location of array configuration regarding the disks. I mean, a file where the position of each disk is saved, e.g. which disk is parity, which is disk1 etc. This would allow me to perform a clean install without having to validate parity again.

Could you please help?

Take a screenshot of unRAID main.

I guess you mean that if I know each drive's position I can accept the parity as valid. But what if for some reason you cannot boot (e.g. mobo or cpu malfuntion) and I have no screenshot? (this is not my case, just wondering)

In that case, the easiest thing to do is assign all drives as data drives, be sure to leave the parity and cache slot blank, then start the array. There should only be one unformatted drive (parity) and the rest should show content, which you could view to determine the slot number you wanted to assign. Stop the array, set a new config, and then assign the drives based on what you found.
