Can I mount a NAS for file transfer?

Featured Replies

I have a Synology NAS. I bought the Plus version of unRAID and built an unRAID server using the x64 bit unRAID 6 beta 10. Is there a way for me to mount a remote folder located on my Synology NAS in unRAID so that I can copy my files directly to my new unRAID server?

I'm not really sure what I did but here is what seems to be happening. I did an ssh into my unRAID and ran command:

mount -t cifs -o user=SynologyUserName,password=SynologyPassword //192.168.0.104/Video /mnt/cache

My "Video" folder on my Synology has sub folder names matching the folder names on my unRAID server. Since they are on my cache it seems to be copying everything automatically to my unRAID server. I went into the "Mover settings" and told it to "move now" which I think is doing the copying. I'm really hoping it doesn't delete it off my Synology NAS as it copies it onto the drives on my unRAID server.

I think it will delete from the synology. That is how the mover script works on the cache drive. It moves the files not copy them.

I changed the user privileges on my Synology account to read only. I'm hoping it copies everything over first and then when it tries to delete the files the Synology wont let it.
