Well FINALLY after ages and ages of reading this forum I am ordering my first Unraid server parts (thank you tax return)...  Most is LimeTech official/supported parts but I just wanted to make sure the PSU will be ok...

 

Starting system will be 3 new 1.5TB drives, when build is done and files from old NAS are copied over I will add the 5 750GB drives from the NAS...  This system is being planned to support the UnRaid max config of 14 data, 1 cache drive...

 

As you can see below it looks like Adaptec may be discontinuing the 1430SA, well at least Newegg is...  Hope Tom can get a 8 port card supported soon...

CPU:  Will be using 1 year old C2D from my HTPC, HTPC will be getting new 3Ghz C2D (for software blu-ray decoding)

 

HDD (3): Seagate 1.5 TB drives  (still best bang for buck, issues aside, will add 2TB when needed and when they come down in price)
