October 13, 201411 yr I have an Unraid server that has a 3 TB drive for data and a 3 TB for parity. I have 500 cache drive. Is it possible to convert the drives into normal drives without losing data?
October 13, 201411 yr Data and cache drives ARE normal drives just formatted using different file systems.
October 13, 201411 yr Author I am pretty noobish with anything file system or raid etc. I am wanting to convert this particular box to a Windows box in other words..and the Cache drive will become my OS drive and the Partiy/Data drives will become just normal NTFS drives. That's what I am trying to do without data loss. (Thus how to do I convert them to NTFS or usable in Windows without data loss, is what I meant)
October 13, 201411 yr You cannot do what you want. UnRAID drives are formatted with Linux file systems which Windows does not know how to handle.
October 13, 201411 yr Author So the only way is to copy the files from unraid through the network to an NTSF disc..then reformat the other drives.. doh..that is going to take 24 hours..... 11mb/s lol
