NIC not supported - any work-a-rounds?

Featured Replies

I am currently attempting to set up unRaid on my Supermicro quad core SoC atom mobo.  However the i354 NIC is not supported.  The board is part of new Rangeley / Avoton atoms.  Here is the link to the board: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/atom/x10/a1sri-2558f.cfm.  I have already messaged LimeTech to see about adding the driver to the board in the next update but wanted to know if others have had any luck with alternative measures.  I do not have a free PCIe slot so I am unable to add an Intel NIC card there. :(

I am curious if anyone has successfully used a USB to Ethernet adapter?  I would be looking for a USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter.

Thanks!

Caleb

Without a slot to install a NIC in, you're pretty much at the mercy of Limetech adding NIC drivers.

Have you tried all of the NIC ports to confirm UnRAID isn't "talking" to one of them?

... as far as I know, UnRAID does not support USB -> Ethernet adapters, but I'm not certain of that.

Hopefully Tom will confirm that.
