Take it for what it's worth, I guess.  I just had an HGST blow up last week that was about 2 months outside of the 2-year warranty.

 

They also indicate, that most of the Seagate and WD drives had been farmed from External USB drives they purchased a few years back when HDDs became scarce from the flooding in Thailand.
