November 1, 201411 yr It has been so long since I've had to update PLEX on my unRaid server that I'm not even sure I remember how. I'm excited now to find out that PLEX is available for xbox 360, but when I tried to use it, it tells me that my version of PLEX is too old (.9.8 I think). The latest version for unRaid appears to be .9.10. I do have CONTROL PANEL installed so I think if there is a PLG with the latest version I can simply point CONTROL PANEL to that PLG. Does one exist? Thanks.
November 1, 201411 yr I think phaze is maintaining some of the most used plugins. His thread is a couple down from here and he also has a thread for upgrading from old PLEX to his new PLEX.
November 1, 201411 yr Author Yea, I saw that, but unfortunately, I'm an idiot when it comes to doing upgrades like this. I wish in the CONTROL PANEL there was just a button for updates like it has for SABNZBD. Anyway, is there are a good step-by-step process I should follow to update PLEX via the CONTROL PANEL. When I stop PLEX via the CONTROL PANEL there appears to only be a button to reinstall the same old version of PLEX. Shouldn't I be able to point to a new PLG file?
November 2, 201411 yr Once you get my plugin installed you can always update Plex with just one button. The steps are really easy, download my plugin, put it in the usb/config/plugins folder, reboot. Setup the plugin with your folders (install directory and library directory). Then you have two choices, either press start and create a new database or look at the Plex upgrade thread which is like two steps long and recover your current database.
November 2, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the help, but another forum member helped me out and I am where I need to be now. I simply had to install pms updater via the control panel and then reinstall the plg for plex once it had the new version. Everything looks good now. Thanks.

November 15, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the help, but another forum member helped me out and I am where I need to be now. Fortunately, I had a friend help me with this, but for most people it isn't too difficult. Once Control Panel is installed it gives you access to install plenty of other apps like Plex and Plex Updater.
November 15, 201411 yr or, put my plugin in /USB/config/plugins directory and reboot. done. This will update plex anytime a new plex version is released also. No hassle with control panel or multiple plugin files. Plex Media Server: (ver. 1.5.3) Unraid 5 Unraid 6
