Use old macbook pro as Unraid server

Featured Replies

Hello,

This is my first message in the form and am a newbie to unraid. I would like to use my macbook pro as unraid server. So, I got USB flash drive with unraid server and I made it bootable using make_bootable_mac. However, I do not see USB drive as bootable disk in mac.

I used the same USB stick in my old PC and am able to use unraid from the same USB flash drive.

Am I missing something here?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think the USB is mac bootable. The script you ran is to make a USB stick for a PC based server.

I do not see much point in using a MacBook as an unRAID server as surely you cannot connect lots of SATA drives to it?

I have booted unraid on a Mac before, but the wireless network drivers didn't work.  Not sure how you'd use it as an unraid server.
