this is in response to my personal issue: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31159.msg280929#msg280929

As I dont really check my logs but every few weeks (as things have been running smoothly and no visible problems), upon checking I see the same repeating message in my logs, it would have been nice to know about it instead of me having to go look. This could apply to several other situations where just having some basic logic in regards to the logs/events could prevent bigger issues later.

 

if message repeats for a # of times, email the user.. (severity*10 > threshold) - that way more important things get emailed about sooner?
