Flash Device goes missing after a while

Featured Replies

I've been having a problem with the flash drive mysteriously vanishing after an undetermined period of time.

Symptoms

- \\Tower\flash is empty

- Docker displays missing .cfg error message

- See attachment

If I reboot the server, flash is detected and all is well.

Any ideas what could be the matter? Flash drive dying maybe?

If you look at your syslog after the flash disappears, you'll probably see a bunch of "Directory Bread" errors.

What solved it for me was to boot the flash drive from a USB2 port instead of a USB3.

If you search the forums for Directory Bread, you'll find some other suggestions as well.
