I've been using dropbox to auto upload my / wife's photos from our phones then sync to unraid.  Since my subscription is almost up I'm trying to find a different way to sync our photos from phone to server.  Any idea here?

I know BTSync has a photosync option.

Personally I'm using Plex to do that (but you gotta have a PlexPass subscription for that, AFAIK)

I was not aware of that Plex has this feature, I currently use Plex to stream movies in the house thou.  Just curious does it upload itself when it connects  to wifi or u have to manually do it each time?

It uploads itself automatically. You can choose in the settings to enable upload over mobile data, if you've got an unlimited plan...

Cool I'll look into this and last thing can you change the default folder for photo uploads to another location?

You choose to which library to upload to. Haven't tried changing the default, but probably can be done by creating the share you want on the array and adding it to Plex as a pictures library. Then you'll be able to choose it as the target

I've been using Dropbox to sync camera phone shots for years. I'm not sure what subscription you're talking about, but I've never given the Dropbox folks a dime. I did have to go into my drobpox\Camera Uploads directory and clear out about 3 years worth of old pictures to free up some space, but that's about it.

Amazon just sent me an email a few days ago about their new unlimited cloud storage for photos for Prime members. I expect 99% of the people on this forum have a prime acct so it might be worth looking at..

Also, I started looking into this because dropbox forced me to split my 1k business dropbox and my personal dropbox. I noticed that 30% of it was all of our photos. Said screw you dropbox I can do way more with 1k annually than you are currently offering me. I am starting to play around with owncloud (http://owncloud.org/) which can run on an unraid box. Currently it doesn't have auto upload for ios, but it does offer it for android.

Well I only have a 5gb free space which is not enough as I have 3 phones synced to that acct.  Meaning  I would have to clear out every few days maybe.    I wished they offer a lower monthly price for like 30gb instead of 1TB as I don't need all that space.

owncloud is new to me, you able to set up server on the unraid thou?  The auto update doest really work well on plex and can't seem to upload videos which is a deal breaker for me.  Will look into owncloud and see.
