newbie help on initial parity sync

I'm doing an intial parity sync and its saying that its going to take 32000 minutes. that's 530 hours.

that can't be right, surely?

Roughly how long should it take bearing in mind my specs (see sig)?

Is it possible that one of my hdds is faulty?  Could that cause the lag?

Is it possible that one of my hdds is faulty?  Could that cause the lag?

A rough guide on a system working well is about 2-3 hours per TB.

 

It does sound as if you have one or more drives that are struggling.    If you post a syslog taken while doing this parity sync you may get further help.
