Julian0o
Hello, i have a problem with my new drive. I wanted to replace a 1TB drive with a new 4TB drive. When i boot the system, it shows me the missing disk and i can choose the new 4TB drive. When i do this, everything gets greyed out, about 5 seconds later, the missing drive snaps back to unassigned and i can't choose the new 4tb drive anymore! Whats wrong? Im using Unraid 6 Beta10a EDIT: It was caused by a bad drive. Had to put it in my PC to get this. Now I have some request: Some hint would be nice with that error. I think the most of us use new drives to put them in there unraid. I was only able to find the Problem when i put the drive in my pc. Greetings! Julian Quote Link to comment
superloopy
Is this the parity drive? If not, what size is the parity disc? Quote Link to comment
Julian0o
Its not the parity, but the parity is a 4TB drive. Both 4TB drives are WD Green 4TB. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Try doing the replacement after booting in safe mode. Quote Link to comment
Julian0o
Ok, i have it. The drive is corrupt. Whether at windows nor on osx the drive can be formated. I will send it back and get another one... Thanks for your support! Julian Quote Link to comment

jphipps
It is usually a good idea to run the preclear script against a new or questionable drive. It does various writes and reads against the entire drive to identify any issues before placing it in your array. Quote Link to comment
