AirVideo, Subsonic and pyTivo running on:

unRAID Version: unRAID Server Plus, Version 5.0-rc8a

Processor:           AMD TurionTM II Neo N40L Dual-Core - 1.5 GHz

Memory:             8 GB - DIMM0 = 1333 MHz  DIMM1 = 1333 MHz

Network:             1000Mb/s - Full Duplex

Uptime:               55 days, 3 hrs, 12 mins, 25 secs

What hardware is recommended to build a HTPC?  Intel? AMD? OR?

Case?

Any good places to look to get the latest and greatest for a HTPC?

Intel or AMD is a matter of preference. I tend to lgo with AMD. I have setup several for family and friends using Zotac Zbox mini's. I set up three last month using https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3prgPDa4h6c. I have an older model in my bedroom running PMS and xbmc.

Any modern CPU will do the key to HTPC is the GPU. nvidea all the way

I am running with XBMC on Crystalbuntu on a jailbreaked AppleTv 1st generation. Works great and supersmooth.
