November 8, 201411 yr Running unRAID 32.?? and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. My storage drive is nearly full and I would like to delete some files. All files are designated owner unknown and permissions unknown. I can view the server, smb://tower/ and access all files using the ubuntu file browser, but can't delete. Also tried gksudo nautilus and gedit, but they cannot access the server address. rm also failed, but I am not sure how to define the address, etc. Any ideas?
November 8, 201411 yr Your most recent posts implied you were trying to fix some problem you were having by upgrading. Did you upgrade from 4.7 to 5.x? Did you run New Permissions?
November 9, 201411 yr Author Hi Trurl, Good sleuthing there. I did upgrade to 5.0.5 Basic and installed Unmenu, but did not run New Permissions. Got the Utils tab to open on the second try and have started the process. Also now I have a large explanation point indicating Low Disk Space on my laptop. It says "this computer has only 31 MB disk space remaining." Aha! New Permissions just completed and I can now delete some files and the warning has disappeared. Thank you for that! Loren41
