mixingbuddha
I added a cache drive to my existing system, and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I tried copying about 30gb of data to the unraid machine, and i didn't see any writes to the cache. I could see writes to the parity and the data drive, that's about it. I tried rebooting the machine, no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
garycase
Did you change your share settings to enable cache? If cache isn't enabled for a share, it won't use it. Quote Link to comment
mixingbuddha
garycase, seriously.. you are my Godsend.. I enabled the cache drive in the 'settings' and i went through each drive trying to make sure that there wasn't an 'enable cache drive' setting under each one. the one thing i did not check was the share itself. thank you so much! it works now. garycase
Glad it's working. That's a very frequent oversight when folks add a cache drive ... but fortunately a very simple fix Quote Link to comment
