Is the Asus Z97M-Plus board compatible with Unraid or am I better of with the Asus H97M-Plus

    Either is fine -- they're virtually the same board with two different chipsets (both x97 variants).

     

    You really don't need the extra features of the Z97 chipset, so I'd just get the H97 board and save a few $$

    Have read the manual for the Asus H97M-PLUS and cannot see where it can be set in bios to boot from USB

    The manuals aren't very good at showing all of the BIOS options -- both of these boards can boot from USB devices with no problem.

    my H97M-ITX cheap and booted from USB without making bios changes.
