USB 3.0 Stick

Featured Replies

Hi all,

So I am finally getting around to updating to unRAID 6 and will be building out a new USB stick for the process. I have some very low mileage USB 3.0 sticks from Patriot & SanDisk that fit the bill. So instead of buying a new one, is there any issue with using a USB 3.0 stick on a USB 2.0 port to boot unRAID? I assume not but wanted to make sure here before buying a new license. Thanks!

p.s. - I have the USB 3.0 Sandisk Ultra Fit (USB 3.0 version of the regular Sandisk fit drive that LimeTech sells).

Best thing to do since you already own one is load up unRAID basic on your USB 3.0 stick and try and boot up unRAID. If it boots up then you should be good to go.
