November 14, 201411 yr Hi My parity check is really slow 25Mb/s, the same disks were in another hardware config and the parity was aprox 100-90Mb/s. I don't know what is the problem... If i test the HDDs in current hardware (copying from them) via disk1, disk2, etc shares to a desktop PC, the speed is between 90Mb/s and 60Mb/s. November 14, 201411 yr I have the equivalent Asus motherboard, but for an AMD processor. On my board disks attached to the 2 ports on the Marvell based controller seem to run much slower than the same disks attached to the 6 ports on the Intel controller. It might be worth doing some quick disk speed checks to see if you get the performance on all the disks (bearing in mind that parity sync speed is primarily determined by the slowest disks in the array). Alternatively you could just re-plug the disks on the Marvell controller ports to use the Intel controller instead and see if that helps. A syslog might be useful as it could show if any issues are being reported that might be slowing down the speed.

A syslog might be useful as it could show if any issues are being reported that might be slowing down the speed. hi itimpi... i do 2 types of test on each HDD 1) Copy from \\unraid\disk1, \\unraid\disk2, etc a bunch of files (selecting large files from each HDD) to a desktop PC via LAN, and the speeds were between 60Mb/s and 100Mb/s on each HDD 2) Run HDPARM -Tt /dev/sdb, /dev/sdc, etc to test read speed, and the speeds are ok what another way you suggest to test the speed on each disks? Syslog is attached on the post, i do not identify any significative errors.. but i'm not expert.. can you check the attach? Thanks for the reply.
