[Solved] unRAID no longer wants to boot

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased PRO and after a server restart, the system no longer wants to boot. I can see the USB fine on a regular PC, but it doesn't want to be a boot device anymore. It was fine for 1 year+. Please advise.

Thanks,

On my motherboard that usually calls for some tinkering in the BIOS.  Have you checked the boot priority?

Have a look at this.

You might need to make the USB bootable again by running the make_bootable script.

What did you do when you upgrade to pro?  You just copied over your licence file and rebooted?  Or did you do something else?

I upgraded to pro and then did a server restart, after that nothing. Something was up with the motherboard. It refused to use the USB as a bootable drive, but it did work when I put it in a different PC I had lying around. Just to start, I switch out the motherboard with one I know works. I am testing that out currently and report back if that happens to work. Thanks for the information.

I have checked the priority. I thought it may have reset, but it did not.

Turns out that the old motherboard was the culprit. Wasn't happy to find that out, but it refused to use any USB (unRaid or other) as a USB bootable device. Swapped out the innards from newer PC parts and that seems to work well. Now on to other issues! Thanks everyone.
