6TB WD RED failure, how to read SMARTCTL?

I have had my first WD RED 6TB drive fail on Tower1, it now has the spare installed and is rebuilding the disk.

 

I have inserted the failed drive in Tower2 as /dev/sdl and started a smartctl --test=long /dev/sdl  results are ready in 12 hours.

 

How do I obtain the results?

    You should be able to see the progress and results from a "smartctl -a".  It should show up with the normal smart information.  It usually either gives you a success or a failure that aborts the test, such as a bad area on the disk..
