Clearing Disk Question

Hi all,

so I am wondering in version 6, what does clearing a disk do? Is it similar to the pre-clear script?

I am setting up a new array and 2 of my disks had originally been pre-cleared and the other 4 were pre-cleared and then used in Windows 8 for a while and so I just dropped them back into the new unRAID 6 setup I am doing and it automatically started to clear them when the array started.

 

It seems to be clearing very slow, last night it went from 0 - 25% in a few hours but now this morning it is moving really slowly i.e. it has taken about an hour to move from 53% to 54% .

I have attached the system log below.
