HiSoC8Y
Ok, in a few days, i'll be replacing my existing Dell H200 card, due to maximum HDD count, that supports only 16 drives, with a new card H710 that supports up to 32 cards. What is the proper procedure to replace the card? for information, my unRAID is a virtual machine on the same box, currently hardware passthru of the card to the VM. Quote Link to comment
sureguy
If unRAID 5+ shut down, disable pass through on the old device, shut down the host, install the new card, boot the host, set up pass through on the new card, boot unRAID. This assumes unRAID supports the new card and it doesn't need any additional setup. Quote Link to comment

Fireball3
I'm not sure if the H710 will support plain pass through! Also I didn't find any trace where it has been flashed to IT mode. Before your rip your existing array apart, make sure that the new card is working with unRAID as expected. The free license is perfect for testing. Quote Link to comment
