unRAID Server Release 6.0-beta12-x86_64 Available

Featured Replies

Any plans to add "Cache Dirs" into the new interface as was done in ver 5 of Dynamix? Or will it be a separate plugin?

In beta 12 cache_dirs is available as an optional Dynamix plugin see this thread

Thanks, one difficulty with unRAID is being able to find threads which contain information regarding the availability of plug-ins and, I imagine, dock containers that will work in each current release.  Perhaps, someone from LimeTech could modify the first post of the release thread with pointers to the threads which contain this type of information.

Documentation, guides, forum reorganization, and a new wiki are all on the to-do list for the near-term.

Is there a list of events that trigger email notifications? Can custom items be added to this list by the user?

How about the scheduled events? would love to be able to add other scheduled events using the GUI.

Thank you again for all the hard work put in to get this release out.

Upgraded from 10a to 12.  All working as expected so far.  Love the dynamix integration.

Another issue:  I am getting an error in the e-mail smtp settings when I attempt to send a test e-mail.  I copied and pasted the settings over from the working Dynamix page on my ver 5.0 main server.  The error is:

554 5.1.8 - Domain of sender address does not exist [R0107008

I do have internet access and DNS service as I have already installed three plugins.  I did verify that the smtp server was accessible from my main server when the test failed on my testbed server.

Seeing something concerning...

I have 48GB of memory in my server.  The Dashboard is telling me that 66% is being utilized and it is slowly climbing.

Memory usage	66%
Memory size	allocated	48,362 MB
installed	144 GB (max. 144 GB)

I tried shutting down the 3 Docker containers I had running (MariaDB, NZBGet and NZBDrone) and it did not have an impact.  I also have 3 VMs running which I really cannot shut down right now.  However, I paused the movie that was streaming on the one and it had no impact.  The other 2 VMs are essentially idle (at least they should not be accessing the server).

What can I run and post here to see what is using all of that memory?

John

EDIT:  By the time I finished typing the above, memory utilization has risen to 69%.

EDIT #2:  5 minutes later now 72%.

EDIT #3:  5 minutes later now 76%.

EDIT #4:  5 minutes later now 82%

EDIT #5:  5 minutes later now 85%.  I'll just wait and see if it hits close to 100% and report back then.

I believe that this is expected behaviour.  You might find this link of use in explaining why.

I'm curios about this as well. I would assume SMART thresholds would be one, as would parity checks/calculations. Anything else?

Regarding the available ram... the Dashboard's (mine shows 97% full) is useless as is.  If we're going to have a ram reporting section, is would be nice if it took that info from the second line of free to get a more accurate reading.

That 97% scared me when I first upgraded and started looking at things.  I jumped into SSH and looked at free/htop to see what was going on.

Upgraded from 10a to 12 without any issues. All KVM VM's boot up as expected! I cannot seem to get the gmail service working... I keep getting this "Test result: No reply from mail server". Does anyone have gmail setup and working and if so would you mind taking a screen shot of your settings?

all I did was just add the from email(s) at the top, then changed the gmail pull down to gmail-TLS and entered in my login/password at the bottom.  Ran the test and it sent me an email.

I believe someone else reported that things like empty spaces or symbols in your password may not be working correctly.  Can you test that to validate?

Having some BTRFS errors, looks like it's made the BTRFS loop drive go read only.  Getting these:

When did this start occurring?  Right after the update to beta 12?  Please share more information about your situation.

Upgraded from 10a to 12 without any issues. All KVM VM's boot up as expected! I cannot seem to get the gmail service working... I keep getting this "Test result: No reply from mail server". Does anyone have gmail setup and working and if so would you mind taking a screen shot of your settings?

Having issues as well. I get Authorization Failed on my attempts. Password is right, I just changed it to no include any # symbols as the screen instructed me to.

I got an email to my gmail inbox telling me that the sign in attempt was blocked with this message:

"If this was you

You can switch to an app made by Google such as Gmail to access your account (recommended) or change your settings at https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps so that your account is no longer protected by modern security standards."

Is allowing less secure apps required here?

Tried Google TLS and same error in unRAID, no new email from Google about blocking a sign in attempt.

Edit: I enabled access for less secure apps and the email test works now.

Did the update yestrerday about 15 minutes after it was posted, just noticed the error logs right before I posted them.  On b12, and the BTRFS image is on a non-array drive that's mounted through the go script before the unraid start command.  In the process of rebooting, will report back if I see any more shortly.

Going to restart after the parity check is done (about 5 minutes, good timing on my part), and see what happens..

I believe someone else reported that things like empty spaces or symbols in your password may not be working correctly.  Can you test that to validate?

Password does not contain spaces or symbols. I had ssmtp working from the unMENU plugin just fine (I have removed the unMENU plugin and did a fresh reboot afterwards). I've tried a bunch of different ways to enter in my email but it doesn't want to send me the email.

From Google:

Some examples of apps that do not support the latest security standards include:

  • The Mail app on your iPhone or iPad with iOS 6 or below
  • The Mail app on your Windows phone preceding the 8.1 release
  • Some Desktop mail clients like Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird

I guess that counts for a lot of people Google considers 'unsafe'  ;D

Edit: I enabled access for less secure apps and the email test works now.

Yes...this!  I remember now that I had to do that before with gmail.

When using gmail with TLS set port to 587

I believe less secure apps was already enabled but I disabled and re-enabled it to be sure. Still no luck, Here is my current settings with the error.

Should be this...

Sending email address --> your actual gmail account (ie. [email protected] or whatever)

Email recipients --> what email address to send the notifications to (I think it can be the same as above)

Username  --> you short gmail account name (i.e. archedraft)

Password  -->  your gmail password.

It looks to me like you forgot the recipient email address.

Ohhh...and I have the Preset service at the top set to just Gmail and STARTTLS = No.
