Dynamix - V6 Plugins

Featured Replies

My system log is filled with this message (every minute):

crond[1489]: exit status 255 from user root /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/monitor &> /dev/null

I can't figure out what is causing it. I had a number of dynamix plugins but I've remove all of them except for Dynamix File Manager. Currently running 6.12.4. I can't say whether this was happening on 6.11 because I never looked at the log.

Any thought would be appreciated!

This program will help you determine which kernel modules you need
to load to use lm_sensors most effectively. It is generally safe
and recommended to accept the default answers to all questions,
unless you know what you're doing.

Some south bridges, CPUs or memory controllers contain embedded sensors.
Do you want to scan for them? This is totally safe. (YES/no):

Some Super I/O chips contain embedded sensors. We have to write to
standard I/O ports to probe them. This is usually safe.
Do you want to scan for Super I/O sensors? (YES/no):
Probing for Super-I/O at 0x2e/0x2f
Trying family `National Semiconductor/ITE'...               No
Trying family `SMSC'...                                     No
Trying family `VIA/Winbond/Nuvoton/Fintek'...               No
Trying family `ITE'...                                      Yes

Some systems (mainly servers) implement IPMI, a set of common interfaces
through which system health data may be retrieved, amongst other things.
We first try to get the information from SMBIOS. If we don't find it
there, we have to read from arbitrary I/O ports to probe for such
interfaces. This is normally safe. Do you want to scan for IPMI
interfaces? (YES/no):
Probing for `IPMI BMC KCS' at 0xca0...                      No
Probing for `IPMI BMC SMIC' at 0xca8...                     No

Some hardware monitoring chips are accessible through the ISA I/O ports.
We have to write to arbitrary I/O ports to probe them. This is usually
safe though. Yes, you do have ISA I/O ports even if you do not have any
ISA slots! Do you want to scan the ISA I/O ports? (yes/NO): YES
Probing for `National Semiconductor LM78' at 0x290...       No
Probing for `National Semiconductor LM79' at 0x290...       No
Probing for `Winbond W83781D' at 0x290...                   No
Probing for `Winbond W83782D' at 0x290...                   No

Lastly, we can probe the I2C/SMBus adapters for connected hardware
monitoring devices. This is the most risky part, and while it works
reasonably well on most systems, it has been reported to cause trouble
on some systems.
Do you want to probe the I2C/SMBus adapters now? (YES/no): YES

Now follows a summary of the probes I have just done.

Driver `coretemp':
  * Chip `Intel digital thermal sensor' (confidence: 9)

Driver `to-be-written':
  * ISA bus, address 0xa40
Chip `ITE IT8686E Super IO Sensors' (confidence: 9)

Note: there is no driver for ITE IT8686E Super IO Sensors yet.
Check https://hwmon.wiki.kernel.org/device_support_status for updates.

Do you want to generate /etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors? (yes/NO): yes
Copy prog/init/lm_sensors.init to /etc/init.d/lm_sensors
for initialization at boot time.
You should now start the lm_sensors service to load the required
kernel modules.

Unloading i2c-dev... OK

No Driver = No Fan Control

I'm using the IT87 it finds the motherboard fan headers. Im giving up on the Core XT and ordering a PRO. I'll give the pro a try 🤷 and send back the Core XT to amazon. I couldn't get the corsair-cpro driver to load when using driver-detect.

Hello everybody,

I have some concerns with the Sleep Mode since I upgraded to 6.12.:

After I upgraded my Unraid server from version 6.11.5 to 6.12.4, waking up from sleep mode no longer works.
I have been running the "Dynamix S3 Sleep" plugin from Bergware since version 6.9.x successfully. In the plugin settings, I had set the server to go to sleep from 02:00 at night (see screen). The server then woke up again automatically from 08:00 in the morning. I have not changed any of the settings over time. In addition, no WoL is activated in the BIOS.

Since the update, I have to actively press the power button on the server, after a few seconds the server is ready for use again.

Does anyone of you know the problem or has/had similar behavior?

I've setup my NAS with a total of five Noctua PWM fans. They are attached to two fan connectors on the mainboard inside a Jonsbo N3:

  • Two in front of the CPU - via Y-cable on one connector
  • Two for the HDDs and backplate - via Y-Cable on a Y-Cable (PWM side) on the second connector
  • One 40mm non pwm fan for the network card on the non pwm side for the hdd fans

But for the love of god I can't find any contollers or fans in the Auto Fan Control Plugin. What do I do wrong?

Ideally I would love to link the first group of fans to the CPU temp, the second group to the HDD temps and the fifth one to the NIC temperatur - but it shouldn't work as it is part of the HDD group I pressume.

if you read a little through this thread ... there are many unsupported controllers out there ...

and you followed the steps to detect them = sensors-detect ...

any may try some if the fan chipset drivers out there ... my one will help you ...

not included by design, you can only use hdd temps in the plugin, CPU Temps should be controlled by BIOS curve.

NIC Temps ... same here, also another temp controller therefore then ;)

all this is stated several times in this thread already, wish you luck to get at least your fans detected so you could use the HDD Temps for your HDD fans ....

Same problem. Write is showing read speeds, and Read is always zero.

This is for the System Stats plugin

I'm having the same issue.  Writes showing read speed, read is zero.

Same issue here, however it seems to shutdown instead of going to sleep like it should. Did you find a fix for this?
Edit: Only fix seems to be downgrading unraid.

@bonienl I have a question about the reset plugin. Does the plugin essentially "reset" the USB drive as well? Would manually resetting the USB drive be more thorough then the plugin?

Thanks.

Bonienl doesn't read this thread I think :(

Boo. Can you give any insight to my question?

The plugin resets configs back to defaults. but there are options to retain disk and pool assignments

So does it reset the flash drive or just reset the settings on the drive?

Only settings ;)

Just config files

Hello Everyone.

At the moment i´ve got an issue with "DYNAMIX AUTO FAN CONTROL"

After i´ve set up everything its working fine. But after a restart, the picked drives have changed. I´ve also recognized that the short names for the drives changes every restart (sde / sdg / etc.)

Searched a lot in the Forum but haven't found an answer for it only people with the same issue.

so Hopefully someone can help me :)

thanks in advance

I have downgraded my two UnRAID servers from 6.12.x to 6.11.5 and after initial tests the downgrade seems to have resolved my issues with sleep S3 (both servers now go to sleep when expected and wake up on WOL without issue). Fingers crossed, it will keep working that way. Unfortunately, as the plugin is unsupported and there is no alternative, this is the only only solution at the moment.

[EDIT: main downside at this stage: the community applications plugin doesn't install anymore as it requires 6.12.0 at a minimum. I'm sure it's the case of many other plugins.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering, I have two tesla P40 with custom shroud + cooling fan installed, I would love to control the fan speed depending on the gpus temperatures, I can control the fan with Dynamix System AutoFan but I can only control the speed depending on the hard drive temps, is there any way to control the two fans depending on the output of for example the gpu statistics plugins on unraid or from the output of nvidia-smi ?

nope

In case anyone's interested, SpaceInvader One did a new video on the topic of sleep/wake with the S3 sleep plugin.  Sadly, he did not have any suggestions regarding the disk activity function not working.  I'm not sure if he's wasn't affected or he didn't test it thoroughly enough to notice.
