Dynamix - V6 Plugins

Recommended Posts

I need to look into the options of the script. It uses the same javascript which creates the menu popups for Dockers and VMs.

The menu appears under the position where a mouse click occurs, not the solution but clicking the button at the left edge makes more visible of the menu.

Took the big leap of faith and installed System Buttons plugin on my Media Server.  Had to reboot it to get rid of the two extra buttons.  Used the plugin to do the reboot.  (So it works on this server, too.)

Only thing that I noticed were some errors on install logging screen.  I don't know if these errors are the indication of any problems or not but thought you might want to have a look-see.

The system has rebooted twice today, after powercuts - the three buttons persist.

It sounds like old and new versions are both installed.

Can you give a listing of the folder /boot/config/plugins ?

Sure:

Edit to add:

I've just updated to version 2015.08.02, and having done that (and nothing else) there is now only one System Button showing.

Second edit:

When I click on the power button, the pop-up menu is mostly outside of the window (runnind Firefox on Arch Linux).  If I then expand the window to view the menu, the menu becomes disassociated from the power button.  Can it be made to pop-up to the left of the pointer?

Well on my Media server, the available space in tmpfs is 128,476.

However, both servers have been rebooted to get rid of the extra two buttons so the present available space number (on the Media server) is not really a good indicator of what it was when the plugin installation was being run.

I recently had an incident and while troubleshooting it I noticed a surprising "interaction" between Cache Dirs and Unassigned Devices.

I have a couple of SMB mounts in Unassigned Devices, and when I went into Cache Dirs to change the includes or excludes I noticed that those SMB mounts are selectable.

Does that mean cache dirs will scan those SMB mounts unless you specifically configure it to either exclude them on not include them?

Interesting reading.  I had a look at the syslog file which was saved (Thanks, dlanson, for including this in the Powerdown plugin) when I did the last reboot.  I found hundreds of lines of error similar to these:

Made another update and need some testers ...

First, I changed the way the Array-stop and Shutdown/Reboot commands are executed. I hope this addresses the incorrect/incomplete functioning which some of you have.

Thanks, it works fine for me now.

Thanks for these plugins!

I am liking the System Buttons plugin but have 2 requests:

1.  Can Stop Array and Start Array be added to the dropdown list?  Start Array would be grayed out if the array is already started (same for Stop Array).

2.  When you use the button to shutdown/reboot, is it possible to see the same message displayed that you would normally see when doing so from the Array Oprtation tab (stopping nfs...stopping smb, etc.)?  Otherwise there is no indication that the attempt to shutdown/reboot is stuck due to "retrying to unmount disks".

Have made another update.

The Array Start/Stop possibility is added.

I changed the confirmations to follow the same settings as the buttons on the Array Operation page. This allows individual control of the buttons in the popup menu.

Latest version is 2015.08.06a.

When I click on the shutdown or reboot it says it's doing the function bit never starts them.  I can wait for several min and click the back button and the Web interface comes back up.

What do I need to look for as to why?

Thanks Myk

What version are  you running?  Check on the plugin page to find out.    The reason is that this was an issue for several of us (Look back a couple of pages  in the thread) but it was fixed for us with an update.

Yet another update for Dynamix System Buttons.

- Menu commands are now prohibited when parity operation or mover is running, an alert box will be displayed to inform the user

- Pressing CTRL while selecting Shutdown or Reboot from the menu will start a forced shutdown or reboot, this requires the Powerdown plugin

- When the system is put in sleep mode, an indicator is shown at the bottom left to inform the user, this requires the  Dynamix s3_sleep plugin

What is required to get Auto Fan Control working? My system has a SuperMicro X10SLL-F mobo that supports PWM fan speed control via IPMI. When I try to auto detect a controller nothing is detected. Is there something else needed for this plugin to work? Maybe something must be configured first?
