Could not find kernal image

Featured Replies

Has anyone had this problem?  My array locked up, so I had to remove power and now when I reboot off the usb flash drive I get "Could not find Kernal Image".

I even took another usb flash drive, installed the syslinux, then copied bzimage and bzroot files and still received the error message of "Could not find Kernal Image".

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas what to try next..

Did you copy over the complete set of files?  MUST have these files:

ldlinux.sys  [created when you run syslinux on Flash plugged into PC]

bzimage

bzroot

menu.c32

syslinux.cfg

There are several files involved in the configuration.  They are all in the config folder on the flash drive.

The two that specify the disks are:

config/disk.cfg

and

config/super.dat

Others in the config folder are used to specify the network configuration, the user shares, and security.
